Shift Happens
J. Albert Mann
HarperCollins
Sometimes we like to think we live in unprecedented times, but Shift Happens by J. Albert Mann reminds us that we have been here before. While sharing well-known history and highlighting forgotten stories, J. Albert Mann traces the history of workers and work from the earliest days of colonization of the Americas to the present. While there has always been exploitation in work, workers have always pushed back. With short chapters, witty humor, and engaging writing, you'll leave with a much better appreciation of the sacrifices of thousands to ensure a fair treatment for all.
