Nancy Paulsen Books

Rosalyn Quest has lived her life according to a strict set of rules--rules created and enforced by her mother--to ensure that every heist goes off without a hitch. Rule #1: Never fall in love with your opponent. Rule #2: The only thief you can trust is yourself. But Rosalyn wants more out of life than to join the family business. She wants a "normal life." So, she hatches a plan to escape from her mother and run away to college. But it all goes wrong when her mother is kidnapped. To save her, Rosalyn must enter into a deadly competition for the world's' best thieves, the Thieves' Gambit, where the winner is granted one wish. As competition heats up, Rosalyn starts to question her mother's rules more and more. She starts to trust one of her competitors, a handsome and charming boy who seems to say all the right things. But will she be able to win and save her mother? Or will she end up trusting the wrong person?

Kayvion Lewis is a young adult author of all things escapist and high-octane. A former youth services librarian, she’s been working with young readers and kidlit since she was sixteen. When she’s not writing, she’s breaking out of escape rooms, jumping out of airplanes, and occasionally running away to mountain retreats to study kung fu. Though she’s originally from Louisiana and often visits her family in The Bahamas, she never really knows when she'll take off on her next adventure, which could take her anywhere in the world.
