Garry Y. Itkin loves living his fit and healthy lifestyle amidst the rigors of college life. He admits it needs careful planning, but it can be done, and it can be incredibly rewarding.
For today’s blog, Garry Y. Itkin looks at some of the important workout gear people should have when doing high intensity interval training, or HIIT.
The shoes
Choosing the right training shoes is incredibly important for HIIT practitioners. Cross-training shoes are the only shoes of choice for HIIT. CrossFit, one of the more popular HIIT hybrid training gyms have shoes by Reebok made specifically for intense training.
HIIT shoes have to be comfortable, stable, versatile, and sturdy. Wearing the wrong pair of shoes such as running or basketball shoes may be dangerous for the person.
Tops
Lightweight tops, whether it’s a tank top, sports bra, or t-shirt, are key. They should be comfortable enough to do the complex movements of HIIT, and they should the body to breathe, Garry Y. Itkin explains.
Shorts/Leggings
Shorts and leggings are great to use for HIIT, as long as they’re durable. Some HIIT practitioners, however, prefer shorts since its cooler and offers greater range of motion and greater comfort.
