This page contains the information surrounding the Dragon Age in Gaia.
This is the age widely considered to be the start of modern history in Gaia. The First Ones are pretty much all extinct, having been targeted heavily during Great Reckoning I, with some small pockets of them living in isolation and secrecy. Gaia is mainly inhabited by man and humanoid creatures (elves, dwarves, etc.).
As cities are rebuilt and monarchies shift, a great super power begins to form. The continent of Docros, under Sar Docros, created the first ever dragons in Gaia (also the first ever Dragonborn are created during this time). These dragons were large beasts, and were attuned to a specific elemental force that they drew their power from. Recognizing this new power, Sar decided he would attempt to conquer the rest of the world and unite the world under one, single monarchy. He depended on his dragons to do the heavy lifting, as no army anywhere in Gaia would ever be prepared for such a force.
Sar spent many years invading and waging war on the many armies in Gaia, and after nearly 60 years of fighting, conquered Tal'Dorei, Tammemar, and the Green Isles. During his conquest in Caldron, Sar lost two of his four dragons. The remaining dragons, having lost their brethren, grew displeased with Sar and fled to unknown locations, leaving Sar alone to fight his war. Without his dragons, Sar stood no chance against the armies and giants of Caldron, and eventually ended up losing his life, and ultimately his conquest.
As a result of his actions though, the Wildmother, goddess of nature and the creator of the First Ones, punished Sar by scarring the lands of Docros. The green plains and vast fields of Docros were turned into sand, becoming the largest, driest, and most desolate desert in Gaia.
About 200 years after this event, in Tal'Dorei, Uriel Tal'Dorei V steps down as the sole ruler of Tal'Dorei, and forms the Council of Tal'Dorei. His descendants flee south to start The Chroman Conclave. For 300 years, they grow and build their armies, siding with the dark forces from the Deities of Chaos, and plot to awaken the Queen of Chaos, and retake the Northern Republic.
After many years of working with the Queen of Chaos, once again, the Queen and her armies wage war on Gaia, this time with the help of the Conclave. This is known as Great Reckoning II. She uses her dragons to destroy and brutalize settlements across Gaia. She nearly wins, but is defeated by an ancient Aarokocran tribe, using the Rod of Law, an extremely powerful weapon created from all the elements from all the planes of existence. This rod was destroyed on its use, and its pieces scattered across Gaia. This event marks the end of the Dragon Age, and the transition into the Modern Age.
