This page contains the information surrounding the Age of Heroes in Gaia.
This period contains many significant changes within Gaia that will shape the future of the world in serious ways.
It starts out as a period of prosperity. The wars between the First Ones and the First Men have ended, and peace has washed over Gaia, something it hadn't seen in nearly two millennia. The First Men begin to create massive civilizations across all of the continents of Gaia, and the first ancient kingdoms began to form. During this time as well, technological advancements were made, including some of the first iron and steel tools. This eventually revolutionize the way wars were fought and won.
In 200 BC, Docros, Tal'Dorei, and Tammemar found themselves being united under one kingdom and one ruler. In Docros, Cal Docros ruled the continent from its capital Ibh, on Tal'Dorei, Uriel Tal'Dorei I ruled the continent from its captial Ayton, and in Tammemar, Ghar Zemnan ruled from its capital Rexxuntrum. These rulers are known as the Heroes of Gaia as they were instrumental in founding the great kingdoms and civilizations that would carry through to the modern day. Under their rule, Gaia would enter into an age of expansion and flourishing never before seen.
As the kingdoms expanded and grew in power, the need for religion became less and less prevalent. Life had changed from the old days, people started to live in cities, hold jobs, farm fields; they no longer needed to be nomadic and worry about their next meal. The consequences of this age of expansion were the decline in religion and the increase in pragmatism.
Underneath all of this, there loomed a dark power, twisted and malign in nature. This force was evil, pure evil, and corrupted anything its dark tendrils grasped. The leader of this evil force is known as the Queen of Chaos. The only goal of the Queen of Chaos was to take over Gaia for herself and restore the chaotic and primal energies back to Gaia and the cosmos.
In 50 BC, the Queen of Chaos started to recruit vile creatures to her side in a period of time called The Recruitment. As her forces and her reach grew, she too became more powerful. Once her forces were sufficient enough to carry out her dastardly plan, the Queen of Chaos decided to attack the Material Plane.
In 5 BC, Great Reckoning I took place. The Queen of Chaos and her dark armies marched on Gaia, mainly focusing on Tal'Dorei, Caldron, and Tammemar, as they were the largest and most populous of the continents. The war lasted 5 years, and ends in the defeat of the Queen of Chaos, before she returns 1,000 years later to wreak havoc once more.
After Great Reckoning I, Gaia began a period of rebuilding and for the next few years, the scars from the war slowly healed and the Age of Heroes comes to a close.
