This page contains all the information on the history of Gaia, as recorded down in the archives across the world.
The following information outlines what is known within the scholarly circles and historical archives kept by the Grand Maesters of the Lyceum of Lidonia.
Gaia is the name of the world upon which the events of the campaigns and one shots take place. Gaia exists in the Material Plane, although it features connections to other planes of existence, such as the portals to the elemental plane of Air guarded by the ancient Aarakocran peoples in the Starry Mounts.
Gaia is a diverse world, filled with many races, religions, and creatures, all coexisting peacefully... and violently. From the vast deserts of Docros to the lush Vesper Forest expanse in Caldron to the rocky islands of the Green Isles, Gaia hosts an unfathomable amount of life, death, and everything in between.
Having gone through two major world wars, called The Great Reckonings (I and II), Gaia has deep scars that run through it that serve as stark reminders of the harsh past, and the hopeful tidings of the near future. Adventures are a plenty here as the history rich lands bare many unexplored mountain expanses, forests, and deep dark depths, each riddled with their own lore and important stories.
Gaia was not always how it is now. In the beginning, the Eternal Deities of Chaos and Order existed peacefully in the cosmos. After a time, the Deities of Order grew bored with the vast emptiness that was the cosmos, and decided to fill a portion of it with creatures made in their image. They then created the Material Plane, where Gaia is located, and where these new creatures would exist and procreate. These first creatures are called The First Ones, and consisted mainly of Giants, Aarokocrans, Tieflings, and Tortles, as well as many other undiscovered creatures. Below is an overview timeline of major events, but feel free to click around to get more information regarding each age.
