This page details all of the information regarding the Fraternal Order of the Azur Quil.
Shrouded in secrecy and sworn to uphold anonymity, the Fraternal Order of the Azur Quil is one of the most elusive and dangerous factions in Caldron. An elite league of assassins, these talented and dangerous individuals strike fear in the hearts of all people in Ostanza. Nicknamed the Darkness, each one of these trained killers can easily best 10 men. Used mostly to take out high profile targets, these assassins thrive in the shadows and use all sorts of poisons, weapons, and disguises to take out their contracts.
Despite being an assassin's guild used by those who can afford them, the Azur Quil are the personal assassins for King Marcus Dryden and the Crown of the Kingdom of Ostanza.
Membership into the Azur Quil is incredibly difficult. In order to join, you must erase all parts of your life, cut all ties with friends and family, and fake your death. You must truly become a shadow. Once that is complete, you must wait for an invite, which may never come, and once you get it, you have 24 hours to complete the hit and send proof to the location in the invitation. After this is completed, you are invited to a ceremony in which you offer your blood as the bond to the contract of the Azur Quil and sign your life away to the faction. Should you violate any of these edicts, even once, you will be killed. Should you run after doing so, they will use your blood to track you down and kill you.
Life for these killers is just waiting around for the next job, training, reading, and learning. They spend all their free time preparing to become the best killers they can be, sharpening their skills and their minds and constantly looking to improve. The contracts are given out first come first serve, so there is no favoritism to those who have the most kills for first licks. The only exception is when the King posts a hit. In that case, the King will typically have specific members named within the contract, so as to best keep the contents a secret. The other members of the Azur Quil are forbidden to take the King's contracts, nor are they allowed to ask questions or know anything about the King's hits.
On all hits, the Azur Quil requires explicit proof that the contract was fulfilled, and once it is provided, payment is dealt out. This proof could be in many forms, but the most common is to take some unique defining characteristic back to the headquarters and collect payment.
Equally important to the actual kill is the cleanup process, and these killers have mastered that art. They can make a scene look like an accident, a break in, really anything that would take the heat off of them and put it onto someone else. As a result, tracking these killers down is near impossible.
The main goal of the Azur Quil is to always remain anonymous and carry out their hits in complete secrecy. The faction cannot survive if even one of their members is caught and outed, and so if anyone is caught, they are required to poison themselves before questioning.
The second goal is to carry out the orders of the King as this faction was created to do so. Out of necessity, the King formed this faction to take out targets that oppose him, even at the highest levels of government. As such, the Azur Quil is required to do his hits, without question and without the other members knowing. This is the only way.
