This article is about the Generation 2 release of In Your Imagination!, started in 2016. For the Generation 3 remake, see In Your Imagination! (Remake).
In Your Imagination! is a serialized story, starting sometime during October 2016. It follows Gabriel, a self-inserted protagonist, as he ventures through his imagination. Each page functions as its own short chapter.
Hub World Arc

Gaboza sees himself drawn in Pocket Style, and asks why he looks that way. He sees Alexis, and talks to her, seemingly unsurprised by her being there. A short conversation ensues, followed by Gaboza creating some things, including Mettaton from the popular indie RPG, Undertale. When Gaboza seems content with his new surroundings, Alexis tells him that it’s good that he seems happy, because he can’t leave.

Gaboza presses Alexis as to why he can’t leave, to which she responds that she isn’t sure, and all she knows is that he can’t leave. Summer arrives and elaborates a bit, saying that someone took over Gaboza’s imagination. He questions her, creating a Pokémon, Eevee, and asking how he would still be able to create that if his imagination was taken over. Alexis shows a soft spot for Eevee.
Page 3
The newly-formed trio goes to look and see if anyone can help them. Summer tells Gabriel that he’s not supposed to exert at all when creating, and should be able to do it effortlessly.
Page 4
The trio arrives at a large castle. Summer tells Gabe and Alexis that they need to make sure the crown is still present, as whoever wears it is in complete control of the world. After entering a dark castle, someone hits the lights, and Summer exclaims, “I knew it!”
Page 5
The trio is attacked by their worst fears. A giant wasp for Alexis, a snake for Summer, and a lemur for Gabe. He sends out a Pokémon, Litten, which promptly disappears.
Page 6
Gaboza comes to the conclusion that whoever is wearing the crown is suppressing his power to imagine. He uses what he can to summon a glitchy knife, and he charges toward the monstrous fear manifestations.
Page 7
The monsters keep growing, and Gabe leaps in the air, effortlessly killing the giant snake. However, he hits his head upon landing, and dies in an Undertale-esque way, being revived by Summer. Alexis turns out to have taken Gabe’s knife to kill the wasp.
Page 8
A portal appears. Alexis jumps in, and Summer is quick to follow. Gabe questions Summer on her methods of revival. Gabe then enters the portal.
Somerset Arc
Page 9
Gabe wakes up in a different art style. Alexis hops on top of him, telling him that this is her dimension. She thanks him.
Page 10
A security guard from Somerset Academy Canyons interrupts, and sends the two to detention. Alexis asks about an escape plan, and Gabe offers a solution from Pokémon that can “turn [them] into more powerful versions of themselves,” referring to Mega Evolution. Mega Alexis breaks down the detention door, and agrees to Gabe’s proposal to go beat up the principal.
Page 11
As Gabe and Alexis are about to beat up the principal, Summer interrupts, saying she overheard a talk from the principal’s office. They spoke about Mega Evolution, and how the principal is “an apprentice of the crown.” The security guard holds Gabe at gunpoint, telling him to hand over the power of Mega Evolution. Gabe refuses, and the principal, Ms. May, tells the security guard via walkie-talkie that as long as Gabe has Mega Evolution, they can’t beat him.
Page 12
The security guard tells Ms. May about Gabe’s unwillingness to cooperate, and she tells him that there’s only one options. The security guard mega evolves. Gabe is mad because he made that up first (supposedly). Alexis charges ahead, saying she’ll take care of it. A mega-evolved Mr. Mark asks the trio if they “still wanna go.”
Page 13
Mega Mr. Mark is so hideous, that Mega Alexis devolves back into her base form. Gabe throws a mega stone to Sunmer, and mega evolves her instead. She kicks Mr. Mark in the groin so hard that he smashes through the ceiling and flies away, like Team Rocket. Gabe congratulates the team on a battle well-fought.
Page 14
Ms. May shows up, wearing a skull mask. When Alexis asks about it, Ms. May informs her that she doesn’t have a mega evolution. Alexis says “that sucks, ‘cuz I do!” as she takes her mega stone out of her cleavage (classy) and asks Gabe to mega evolve her. She punches Ms. May in the face.
Page 15
Ms. May smashes against a wall. Alexis devolves again, and a new, snowflake-shaped portal opens up. Alexis jumps in, followed by Gabe and Summer. A blinding light closes out the page.
Return to Hub Arc
Page 16
Gabe is dismayed that the trio has returned to the main dimension. Summer comments that something seems off, to which Gabe responds by saying that he’s in pen (contrary to previous pages being drawn in pencil). Alexis cries, sad because she was hot in her home dimension. Elsa from Disney’s Frozen sings ‘Let It Go’ at the top of a mountain, and is suddenly blown up.
Page 17
The trio starts to move, but Gabe faints due to blowing up Elsa having taken all of his energy.
Page 18
The girls argue over who has to revive Gabriel. Alexis eventually does. What a way to use a page.
Page 19
Alexis asks Gabe how he feels. To no one's surprise, he feels happy, specifically about the revival method. Gabe's name is called by someone offscreen, in a singsongy voice. The person calling his name is revealed to be none other than... Shauna from Pokémon X & Y?!
Page 20
Shortly after Shauna's appearance, the ground starts to rumble. Someone appears in a vehicle of some kind, telling the group to "prepare to die, by the wearer of the crown!"
