Chloe Duflora is the main protagonist of Strings of Fate. She's a bubbly teenage girl with a lot of energy, who can often act childish. She's the first magic user in Strings of Fate shown to be awakened, rather than born with magic.

Appearance

Chloe is a young girl of average height, and a chubby build. Compared to many other characters, Chloe exhibits rounder, softer features, to better exhibit her youthful demeanor.

Chloe is seen in a multitude of different outfits over the course of Strings of Fate, often representing the fashion of the country she's currently in. She's shorter than most other characters, and seemingly the only one with a higher amount of body fat.

Strings of Fate: Tokyo Takedown
For most of the Tokyo Takedown special, Chloe is seen wearing a Japanese yukata. She weighs the same as she did in Strings of Fate, and due to the extra height, she appears slimmer. Her facial features also show more maturity, but still have their almost signature roundness.

Personality

Chloe is always the most energetic person in any given situation. She tends to be very scatter-brained, and despite sometimes seeming like an agreeable person (most likely to not upset them), she'll more often than not act out of impulse, a notable example including her rushing off to fight Rosanna alone.

Chloe also tends to hear people out, whether or not she sees them as an enemy. This has worked out in her favor at times, such as Rhiannon approaching her to help in the fight against Rosanna.

History

Prior to the events of Strings of Fate, Chloe and Carson were close. They eventually drifted apart due to resentment that Carson formed due to the twins' mom treating Chloe better, even if subconsciously. When Chloe encounters Carla for the first time, Carla curses her and Carson with the titular curse, Strings of Fate, setting off the events of the story.

Chloe was created on September 17, 2019. This is also the official start date of Generation 3.
Chloe's middle name, Amaryllis, is a kind of flower. She is one of three characters to have a flower middle name.
Chloe is one of the few characters not named after music, unless her Sage name, Creo, is counted.
Chloe got her ear gauges because a goth girl she found attractive had them.
She was originally the love interest of a slice-of-life story in which Carson's friend Dex was the main character.
Chloe is the first "plus-size" Gaboza character to not be made that way for comedic effect.
Chloe is one of two Generation 3 characters to appear in Generation 2 (the other being Carolina). She appears at the very end of Holy War, which shows a sneak peek from Chapter 2 of Strings of Fate: Chloe's mom calling her downstairs, and Chloe yelling, "Coming!"
As of 2026, Chloe is still considered one of the most well-known Gaboza characters, along with Mori.
