Naiads are a possible evolution of Infected Drowned, belonging in the Evolved tier.
Spawning
Spawned when an Infected Drowned gets an evolution point by killing a mob and its evolution timer begins. If the evolution succeeds, they have a 45% chance to become a Naiad.
Unique Behavior
Every 5 seconds, Naiads will try to detect a River or Ocean biome in a 64 block range. If a Naiad finds one, she will set the nearest area in the biome to her nest and make her way over to it. Naiads will try to stay in the general area of their nests. When not having a target, they will patrol in the area of their nest.
Naiads, if having an entity within a 48 block range that they cannot see, will sense the target if the entity is below full HP.
If a Naiad detects a boat in a 16x32x16 block range, she will target it and break it when close enough, dropping 0 - 1 sticks when broken. If her target is in a boat, she'll break it first.
When hitting targets in water, Naiads will drag them down under the water. They do this by adding -1.0 Y velocity (blocks per tick) to the target.
Inflicts the Marker II effect for 10 seconds when dealing melee damage while its target is in water.
Like horses, Naiads are capable of stepping up blocks, meaning they don't have to jump to go up one block.
Enhanced swimming: the Naiad can move much quicker in water than other mobs. They move faster than other water mobs.
Naiads are capable of crawling slowly on land.
Able to breath underwater.
The Naiad has one variant, with a 50% chance per variant including the regular Naiad.
The Triton Naiad has no unique abilities at this time.
Behavior
Naiads are melee combatants, attacking mobs with Infected forms, golems, and most hostile mobs.
Naiads inflict Mycelium Infection for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage.
Has a follow range of 16 blocks.
Naiads have a 5% chance to drop a Scent upon death.
When killed, have a chance to place a small short-lived Mycelium Infection area effect cloud.
Naiads will attempt to group together in hordes with other Evolved.
Infected will follow Naiads, who themselves will follow Hyper Evolved and Calamities.
Can perform low leaps/dashes to chase prey quickly through water.
Able to use kill points to give themselves buffs, such as strength or speed if the target is running away. They can also give themselves regeneration if they are low on health.
Capable of breaking glass and leaves.
Have a damage cap of 1/3 of their health on hard mode.
Present a weakness to the cold, like all spore mobs.

Trivia
The Naiad is a suggested mob, coming from the mind of @bigxplosion in the Spore Asylum Discord server.
Naiads are based on the naiad mythological creature originating from Greek mythology and mermaids from worldwide mythology.
The model of the Naiad has a slight chest on it. This feature was added by the mod creator after someone made artwork of a feminine Naiad. The chest is named "Hehe" in BlockBench. This is also when it was decided that all Naiads are female.
A model attempt of the Deluger (a planned Infected Drowned evolution) was used as reference for the model of the Naiad (notably the chest cloth and tumors around the waist).
