Lesson 11: Double and Triple Integrals Over General Regions

This lesson generalizes the regions of integration considered in the previous lesson to non-rectangular ones.

  • In Module 1 we’ll revisit double integrals and learn how to evaluate them over two different “types” of regions: Type 1 and Type 2 regions. These terms may be familiar from single-variable calculus; you at some point likely learned how to find the area between two curves, and whether these curves bounded the region above and below or from the left and from the right determined the region “type.”

  • In Module 2 we’ll replicate our work in Module 1 for triple integrals.
