On December 19, 2024, representatives of the institute – Acting Director of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Oils and Fats of the NAAS, P. Petik, Deputy Director for Research V. Papchenko, and Scientific Secretary T. Matveieva – participated in the General Meeting of the members of the “Ukroliaprom” Association. The meeting was held via videoconference. The discussions focused on key issues of the operation of Ukraine’s oil and fat sector in the 2024/25 marketing year, including the results of activities for the period from September to December 2024 and the expected outcomes for the year. The meeting also addressed the issue of co-financing by industry enterprises for the review and development of amendments to several State Standards directly applied in industry operations. In addition, the draft Research Plan of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Oils and Fats of the NAAS was considered. It includes proposals for the Research Program “Technologies for the Production of Food Products from Oilseed Crops, Oils, and Fats” (Oils and Fats) for 2026–2030, planned to be implemented with funding from the state budget. The draft was recommended for participation in the NAAS order competition.
On December 18, 2024, specialists from the Ukrainian Research Institute of Oils and Fats of the NAAS held an online scientific seminar (guest lecture) for the staff and students of the Department of Bakery and Confectionery Technology at the National University of Food Technologies (Kyiv). Participants were introduced to the institute’s scientific achievements. The seminar covered modern methods for assessing fat oxidation, features of using palm olein in food products, as well as current challenges and prospects for the development of the industry and the food sector in general. The event generated significant interest, and the attendees actively asked insightful questions, demonstrating a high level of engagement with the topic.
On November 12, 2024, a meeting of the Coordinating and Methodological Council for the NAAS Research Program No. 40 “Processing of Oilseed Crops. Oils and Fats” (“Oils and Fats”) took place, during which the implementation of fundamental and applied research developments for the second half of the year and for 2024 as a whole was reviewed.
On November 11, 2024, specialists from the Ukrainian Research Institute of Oils and Fats of the NAAS conducted an online scientific seminar (guest lecture) for the staff and students of the Department of Bakery and Confectionery Technology at the National University of Food Technologies, during which they presented the institute’s scientific achievements. The seminar addressed the production of blended oils with a balanced fatty acid composition, as well as methods for reducing the formation of trans isomers during the thermal processing of oils.
