The marketplace is the module of TravelC that allows the purchase and sell of the product loaded in the Contracts section between TravelC operators.
In this section of the Back Office, you will be able to control to which TravelC operators we will sell or buy prodcut to. A part from the explanantion of this sections of the Contracts module, here you will find a detailed explanation of how the full Marketplace module works.
Carry out a multi-channel and multi-market distribution
Distribute your product in B2C and B2B channels and in over 40 markets.
Consolidate and distribute the product uploaded by you selected suppliers to whom you have given a password to enter through the extranet and load their
product.
Synergize the loading and maintenance of your product by concentrating more sales on them.
Save financial transaction costs by grouping in one bag and monthly transfer all sales and their collection, and all purchases and their payments avoiding all thecommissions that they entail.
The available products for the moment for the purchase and sale through the Marketplace are 4: Transport, Tickets, Transfers and Hotels.
The TravelC operator can have a supplier role (selling its product through the Marketplace), a client role (buying product through the Marketplace) or both. In thefollowing diagram, the complete flow of the Marketplace is shown:
Below, we will learn how to use the Marketplace module from both perspectives, the operator acting as a supplier (selling product) and acting as a client (buying product).
As a supplier, you’ll be able to decide which contracts you want to sell on the Marketplace. For that, you will need to access the “Channels” tab of the contract:
By clicking on this check we will indicate that we want to distribute our product through the Marketplace.
Add your Marketplace Fee: On this field, we will indicate the margin we want to win every time a sale of this product has been done through the Marketplace.
IMPORTANT: Only the operators that have contracts with the “Sell in Marketplace”option active will appear on the Available Suppliers’ list.
The contract price in the page of another TravelC operator will be the following:
NET OF THE CONTRACT+ ADD YOUR MARKETPLACE FEE + TRAVELC’ S CONSOLIDATOR FEE (2%) + THE CLIENT’S FEE
NET OF THE CONTRACT: This is the price indicated in the uploaded contract.
ADD YOUR MARKETPLACE FEE: This is the fee indicated in the point 2 of theprevious section.
CONSOLIDATOR FEE: As the consolidator, TravelC will have a 2% fee.
THE CLIENT’S FEE: This is the markup that the client will have added for themselves and will also include potential fees for the distribution channels, agencies, ...
1. CONTRACT REPORT
As with the other sales of own contracts, we can see the sales of our contracts through the Marketplace in Contract > Contract Report.
In the marketplace fee column we will be able to see how much we have won for that sale (the “Add your marketplace fee”) and through the channel column in which it has been done (Marketplace).
2. CONSOLIDATION BALANCE
Every time another TravelC client has sold one of our products through the Marketplace, we will see the movement reflected on our Consolidation Balance.
Therefore, we will see the sale’s money through Financial > Consolidator Balance.
Also, the supplier of the product (The one we have selected as “Supplier” in the contract) will receive an email with the notification of the sale.
As suppliers, we can decide to which TravelC clients we want to sell product.
We can make this selection this back office section (Contracts > Marketplace). On the bottom part of the page we will find the “Allow Operators to buy your product” section. In it, we will find the list of TravelC operators that can buy product because they have activated that option and their contact email (in case we want to contact them to request more information of who they will sell to as clients).
Here we can have two scenarios:
1.- An operator has requested our product
In this case, the line of that operator will be in yellow with “Awaiting Approval” status and we can confirm if we allow them to sell our product or not.
If we accept their request, the operator will appear in green and will be able to sell our product.
If we reject their request, the operator will appear in red and will not be able to sell our product.
Every time an operator requests access to our products, we will receive a notification via email.
2.- The operator has not requested our product yet and we have not given them access
In this case, the line of that operator will be in red and we can decide if we want to allow them to buy our product by clicking on “Allow”.
Until the operator does not active our product from their side as client, they will appear with “Allowed but deactivated” status and in yellow.
Once they have activated it, it will appear in green.
Before being able to buy product from other TravelC operators/suppliers, the following configurations are necessary:
1.- Activate the Marketplace per type of product you want to use
As with any other supplier, to activate or deactivate the “Marketplace” suppliers we will do it from Microsite > Microsite Settings > “General” tab.
If you need more information about this tab, click here
IMPORTANT: If you do not have any Marketplace supplier active, you will not appear on the buyers’ list of the Marketplace.
2.- Adjust the Operator Fees
As with other suppliers, it is important to configurate the markups and fees for this supplier. You will be able to do it through Financial > Operator Fees for each of the Marketplace types.
If you need more information about this Back Office section, click here
3.- Consolidator Balance
As with the other consolidated suppliers, to be able to access and buy content in the Marketplace, it is necessary to have the consolidator balance in positive.
If you need more information about the consolidator balance, click here.
As clients, we can choose which TravelC operators we want to buy from.
We will be able to make this selection through this Back Office section (Contracts > Marketplace). On the top part of this page we will find the section “Select your Marketplace suppliers”. In it, we will find the list of TravelC operators that can sell product and their contact email (in case we want to contact them to request more information about their products). Here we can have two scenarios:
1.- An operator has given us access to their product
In this case, the operator will appear in orange and we will be able to activate it if we want their product by clicking on “Activate”.
If we activate it, the supplier operator will appear in green and we will be able to buy their products.
2.- An operator has not given us access to their product yet.
In this case, we can request access to this supplier’s content by clicking on the button “Request”.
Until they do not accept our request, the supplier will be in yellow.
Once accepted, it will appear in green and we will be able to buy their products.
1.- BOOKINGS
As with any other booking, every time we purchase and book a Marketplace product we will see it reflected on our Bookings’ page.
Inside of the services’ tab we will see that the supplier is “Marketplace”.
If you need more information about this Back Office section, click here
2.- CONSOLIDATOR BALANCE
Every time a purchase has been made, it will be reflected on our consolidator balance, deducting it from our deposit.
