Cover Page : https://creativemindmagazine.com/team-2-page-1/
You can see on the left hand side the first page that we created in WordPress, We kept the page simplistic as it was acting as the cover of the digital magazine and therefore it needed to capture attention, which is why we used a themed image that relates to the magazine being a winter issue, and we also used a bold white text on a black background in order for it to pop and stand out against the background. We also chose an image that had red tones in, therefore it represents the brand whist also being relevant and not too overpowering, we also included the Andrew Grant logo in order to show who created the magazine. This logo is smaller than the title though because the client wants the magazine to focus on the customers and not on the company theme-selves. There is also an explore button which would take the user into the digital magazine and to the home page.
The URL needed to be relevant to the magazine and also something that would show what the link is for, but this needed to be concise and therefore I think this URL works best. It gives a clear indication on what content may be found through the link and therefore it is a good representation of the magazine itself. This would make it easy to locate in a search engine if the user is looking for either Andrew Grant or a lifestyle magazine, although this will not have the further reach some of the other pages might have.
Information Page: https://creativemindmagazine.com/andrewgrantcoveragehomepage/
The information page acts as a home page for the digital magazine, here the user should be able to learn about Andrew Grant and also about where the closest one located to them is, as this is something the client talked about. We chose to also use imagery over text, therefore the images are more dominant on the page and the user would have the option to read more if they choose to do so, therefore there is not too much text on the page. The layout is also very simplistic and the white background keeps it clean and professional looking.
The content of the page can be found just by scrolling down, this is where you can find the links to the other pages, the images give the user an idea of the content and the theme of each of the pages and when clicked they provide a link to that page. We also finished the page with a red footer with the Andrew Grant logo on, this linking it back to the brand but because it is at the bottom of the page it is not in your face or over powering as the colour red can be.
I wanted to keep the URL simple for this page as it acts as a homepage which is like a hub for all the information, which therefore needs to link to all the pages, which is what a homepage is usually able to do. So those who are familiar with using the internet can expect the area of content they would find on the homepage and how that may provide them with the link to the information they are looking for.
The dogs page is the first of the pages we deiced to carry on using the image cover banner with the text on top, this therefore shows a familiarity to the other pages so when you move between pages you know you are on the same magazine site as the format is the same across the pages. This also goes for the format of the text and images on the page, which are the same as the design of the homepage for the same reasons and to show consistency.
We wanted to link this page to the theme of the issue being a winter issue, this is something we want to carry out throughout the magazine. This makes all the information and articles relatable to a wider audience at the time it is published. We also wanted to link it to the local area and therefore the gallery of images which display places you can walk you dog in your local area, this allows Andrew Grant show their focus on their customers and their lifestyles, this also may help people who want to move into the area and may be looking for houses in the area. But further it is something that would be a taggable or relatable search for the search engines, as can be visited by those who may just be looking for somewhere they can walk their dog.
It was then important to include the page name in the URL of the site, as this may help a search engine rank the page higher in someones results as we have narrowed it down to dogs and therefore there will be a audience of dog owners who may or may not know about Andrew Grant, opening the door to new customers.
Worcestershire Page: https://creativemindmagazine.com/andrewgrantcoverageorcestershire/
As you can see the theme and the layout is the same across the pages, this to show consistency, but also the pages are very simplistic and this is something we were not looking for. Not having any knowledge of WordPress and having to teach ourselves how to use it we found it quite difficult to use, this has resulted in these designs not being to the best of our ability as a team.
Simply to the content about where to walk your dog locally, this page focuses on Worcestershire so we therefore though tit would be a good idea to include places to visit, family days out, places to eat and attractions that are in Worcestershire. We also thought it would be good to have external links on this page, for example if you clicked on the image it would take you to the website of the place we are talking about. This makes the site more commercial and also it means there is no need to put all the unnecessary information on the page and bore the user with places they are not interested in, they are able to click the ones they are more interested about and gain access to information first hand from the location themselves making it more trust worthy than second hand information.
The idea for this URL is the same as the dogs page, the link to Worcestershire may make it more reachable in the search engines as it will provide more information on Worcestershire or if people are more specifically looking for places to go in Worcestershire.
Busy Mums Page: https://creativemindmagazine.com/andrewgrantcoveragbusymums/
The busy moms layout is the same as the ones above, however the cover image on this page also relates to the theme of the whole issue of the magazine, which may be something we should consider doing across all the pages of the magazine.
We wanted to include fun things t do around Christmas times for moms and children, the first option would lead to a list of items that are hot on the Christmas present options this year and give the user information on where they can be purchased. We also wanted to use a different range of media and therefore thought it would be good to use video tutorials of Christmas recipes ect that will provide a new visual aspect to the site and make it more interesting.
The URL choice is also for the same SEO we had chosen the ones above, it needs to link back to the page so that the search engines know what content can be expected on the page.
Country Homes Page: https://creativemindmagazine.com/andrewgrantcoveragecountryhomes/
This page was the page that most links back to the company and the brand, as it was Andrew Grants opportunity to advertise some of their houses. This page also follows the same layout as the ones perviously talked about.
The country homes page was slightly different to the other pages as it holds a gallery of images that all represent different areas of Worcestershire and the images in the gallery are all labelled. This allows the user to narrow down their search for a house in the area they aera interested in moving to and therefore they do not have to scroll through lots of adverts that may not be relevant to them as that may become tiresome and force them to leave the page.
We also wanted to link in some articles and information that will link this page with the rest of the magazine and the theme of the issue, therefore we chose articles such as Christmas decoration, showing interesting in interior design and also showing that Andrew Grant care about their customers lives inside the house that they have brought from them and it is not just about the buying and selling of the house but also about making that house a home.
This URL is also a little different to the others as it may have a narrower audience, this is because the link may only be visited by those who are interested in country homes, this may make it only attractive to those who are specifically looking to buy a country home and therefore may not be the most popular page of the magazine.
