These are the concept designs that I did for our country houses page for the Andrew Grant digital magazine.
Wireframes:
These wireframes are similar to the ones I have done for the pervious pages as they all need to follow the same design and format to create a flow between pages and be consistent. Therefore these may look very similar but they do differ due to the different content that is going to be on the page. The first wireframe does not have the title centre of the header image, it is a more modern design with is overlaying the image and the background, this may help to draw the viewers eye-line from the image and down the page. Also across all three designs I wanted to include a slideshow of images of country homes for sale, therefore there is movement in the page, this makes it different the other pages. If the user can see a house they like or may be interested on they can click the image as it appears and it will give them more details on the property. But other than this element the second and third wireframe follow the same structure as the pervious page.
Digital Mock Ups
This first digital mock up was created from the first wireframe on the page, the images I have used on this page are not as effective as I thought they would be as they look very clustered and overwhelming, you don't know where to look. Therefore those images would not work, I also think the red behind the title does not stand out as well as the black does, and the black looks more professional. But I have made a slideshow of images and also there are Christmas decor options at the bottom of the page that links back in with the winter issue of the magazine, which I think is a good idea. The page also needs a navigation bar in order to move between the pages.
The next two digital mock ups were created from the second and third wireframe that I had made. I think both of these designs work well, both the titles and the navigation sections work well. For the slide show I think the design on the right is more effective as the image size is more correct and as the image changes the text on the left of the slide show can also change through the details for each house. There could also be a find out more option that would lead them to Andrew Grants main website. The designs further down the page are very similar all text being supported by an image in order to keep it interested and to keep the page balanced, I do prefer the footer on the design on the left, with the logo at the bottom of the page, as the client did not want the brand to be too overpowering as they wanted to focus on their clients and therefore the logo may be better suited at the bottom of the page. Finally I think in both deigns I have tried to make the content fill the page too much and we have lost all the white space, which is what we needed to make the design a clean design like the client was looking for.
