The two colour wheels below I have used across most of my design work in a number of different modules as I find them the most useful to refer to.
In order to keep the digital magazine on brand we need to keep a constant referral to the the Andrew Grant brand colours, which consist of red and white, this can be seen in their logo. However the colour red can have negative connotations with it, as shown on the image above red can stand for or often empathise danger, power and fire. Which are all not words you would use to describe the estate agency, but there are other words that can be accosted with red, but might not be the first impression the majority may get, this may be love, passion and strength. We could use this too our advantage as those are all things that the company want to use to relate to their customers, they want to show they care about the clients and therefore this will strengthen their relationships with their own clients and their advantages against the competing estate agencies. We will use the colour red in our design, we we wont use enough that it will overpower the page, using a fade on the colour may be a way of softening the colour out.
The colour white has much more positive connotations to it, things such as light, goodness, perfection. This could be used to balance out the red on the page. White can also be reference to cleanliness, which also can be adapted to our 'clean' design format, if there is white space on the page it can look more organised and professional looking. It can often also show simplicity in more high tech things, so therefore it can add to the user experience of the pages.
One other colour I think we may use in our designs would be black, which is a big contrast to the white, but I believe it will form a bridge and more of a connection between all three colours. However black can have some negative connotations too, such as power, death and mystery, however I believe that the text on the page needs to be black to stand out and be clear against the white backgrounds and also black can make the page look more elegant and professional looking and therefore it will compliment the red and white very well and they will look good on the page.
