Teach to your players to recognize 2v1 and 3v2 situations in every practice through advantage drills so they will exploit it in games. Two of your players against one of their players anywhere on the field means you have a man open. This principle is critical to success everywhere in the game...Offense, Defense, Clearing, Riding, Ground Balls, everything!

Draw & dump

Draw & Dump is the most basic principle that coaches and players at every level should understand in order to move the ball to the open man to score! When a player dodges and draws a slide, he has done his job, and now must move the ball to the open man...dodge/pass/pass/dodge.

Dodge/Pass/Pass/Dodge

If you are the MAN WITH THE BALL ... Are you a "Dodger", "Feeder", or "Shooter"? You must give cues to your teammates. For example, if you are a "dodger" you need to "elevate" or "crack the whip" first before you dodge.

If you are OFF BALL (Man with OUT Ball) ... If the dodger drives AT YOU, here are your options...Option #1 "clear thru" ... Option #2 "pick/exchange" ... Option #3 "fade/drift" ... When in doubt..."clear thru"!
