Final page

In the final page, choose what you will in regard to your Monk's appearance.

Alignment

Monks are always of Lawful alignment. For those with multiclass experience, this makes Bard/Monks or Barbarian/Monks impossible.

You can choose Lawful Good (allowing use of Pure Good and similar gear) or Lawful Neutral. Unless you understand the significance in advanced techniques or multiclassing Monk levels, you should choose Lawful Good in most cases.

After you've played a bit and want to experiment with the Warlock class , introduced in Update 26, your Lawful and/or Good alignment will prohibit you from selecting certain pacts as a multiclassed character.

Veteran Status (And why to skip it, for now)

If you have Veteran Status, you do have the option to start your character at Level 4 or Level 7. If you have never trained a Monk before, I don't recommend this.

Notes from the Old Master:What? You're ALREADY an expert?!

HAHAHA

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAH

AHAHAHHAHAH *COUGH*COUGH*I can't breathe---whew

I thought you were serious in training for the monastic life.

Much of what you know about fighting in other classes will not help you here.

How can you block as a Monk? You can't carry a shield, so you'll need to know how.

How can you keep attention on yourself? You can't threaten well (yet).

It's the little things that matter--and those little things are found at the start of training in every class.

If you are serious, you will begin at the beginning. You will aid the village of Korthos at the first level of enlightenment and learn to crawl before you walk.

By starting at the first level, you are able to experiment with little worry. Even an acolyte such as yourself will find it interesting how well you excel, without mercenary help. In fact, you'll find yourself surprisingly over-powered.

But if you choose to go ahead and take the path of least resistance...well, I'm sure your Teacher has a bucket and a cup on-hand to collect your remains from the last dungeon you visit.

Congratulations on your new Monk.
