Legendary Dreadnought

The Legendary Dreadnought (LD) epic destiny, one of the martial destinies (with Shadowdancer and Grandmaster of Flowers) is built to maximize combat potential with weapon-wielding classes, such as Fighters and Paladins.

While many of these abilities won't work with unarmed or ranged fighting, the Ninja Spy, Henshin Mystic and even Zen Archer can leverage much in these destinies for sustained, potent damage.

Selecting Legendary Dreadnought as your Destiny

You can enable a new Epic Destiny with the right qualifications once your character reaches Level 20. As a Monk with at least 6 training levels, you may select Legendary Dreadnought as your first destiny on reaching level 20 without any charge.

To select your destiny, visit the Fatespinner, an NPC. She sits on a fallen pedestal in the Stormreach Marketplace, just a little west and north of the quest entrance to "Devil Assault." She's also being admired by and surrounded by other Heroic trainers in the village of Eveningstar.

Once you've chosen LD as your Epic Destiny, you'll receive Innate Abilities. Some are spell-like items to activate with a cooldown, while others are always active.

Notable Abilities

Action Boosts can greatly improve tactical fighting by adding speed, damage or boosting attack rating. These abilities work well with any armed or unarmed fighting style.

You can train STR or CON throughout the destiny, good for Shintao Monks to reinforce their prowess or beef up HP in other builds.

Critical Damage adds up to +6 damage on critical hits before multipliers.

Volcano's Edge adds nasty fire damage to kamas and shortswords for Ninja Spies.

Advancing Blows increases damage as critical hits land.

Devastating Critical increases your critical damage multiplier. This works for both unarmed and armed fighting.

Master's Blitz, the epic moment, increases melee power while giving you extra Dodge or PRR as well as weapon damage. This ability is self-sustaining, increasing and persisting as long as you fight. Great for arena situations.

Recommended Twists

Improved Combat Expertise (tier 2) will add +20 to PRR. You need Combat Expertise already trained.
