Update 17: Monks Gone Nekkid

Post date: Feb 20, 2013 8:27:21 PM

As Update 17: Epic Gianthold was released, the first glaring bug left many Monks doing The Streak through the realms as their unnamed and Cannith crafted outfits disappeared from their banks and inventory. This was likely the result of new updated looks on armor that's part of the update.

Hopefully this will be resolved in a quick hotfix by the time you read this. But I blame the hundreds of angry guild ship training dummies that many of us--Syncletica included--punched out of the multiverse with a well-placed Void Strike some time ago.

Update 11.1 took care of that, but not the Unstoppable Rage of the displaced dummies. So, in revenge, they stole our clothes. The problem exists on all non-named outfits, even the ones in the Auction House.

In better news, Update 17 is more than just Epic Gianthold. The whole game got an internal facelift, specifically in updated loot in many low-level adventures and the ability to block an attempt to knock you down or knock you back (yes!).

A fascinating addition is that the Magical Training feat, granted to all spellcasters for free, can be selected by non-casters.

Many readers know of my slight discouragement of using Use Magic Device because it will suck your AP life away...but one feat could change my opinion of using magic on a Monk, provided you have enough spell points and can figure out how to cast them (you're not granted spells, you know). More on this later.

Update 17 general updates to the guide will come along over the next few weeks. For now, the dojo is planning to give some kobolds more back pain in Crystal Cove.
