Winter Mileage Club 2019

WHO: All cross country runners are encouraged to be part of the CWXC MILEAGE CLUB!

WHAT: 60 days to complete a set amount of miles. You can break it up however you would like as long as you get your end miles in. You must commit to which mileage club you are setting for yourself and email Coach K that info before Feb 3rd at midnight. You will earn points for your Varsity letter by completing the mileage club!

WHEN: January 14 – February 3: build up your base miles. Mileage club begins February 4th and goes for exactly 60 days! Ending at midnight on April 4th.

WHERE: Run ANYWHERE you would like. We will meet on Wednesdays and Fridays at 2:50 by the weight room and do team runs. The rest is on your own, building mental toughness and accountability. I encourage you to meet up with your teammates on the other days so you have friends to run with.

MILEAGE CLUB BREAKDOWNS:

500 MILES IN 60 DAYS: (AVERAGE 8.3 MILES A DAY) = MUST run at least 5 miles at a time to earn pts.

400 MILES IN 60 DAYS: (AVERAGE 6.6 MILES A DAY) = MUST run at least 4 miles at a time to earn pts.

300 MILES IN 60 DAYS: (AVERAGE 5 MILES A DAY) = MUST run at least 4 miles at a time to earn pts.

200 MILES IN 60 DAYS: (AVERAGE OF 3.3 MILES A DAY) = MUST run at least 3 miles at a time to earn pts.

The minimum amount of miles at a time are listed in order for the runs to count toward your lettering points. Everyone is capable of running for 20 minutes, it’s what you do after the 1st 20 minutes that is going to make you a better runner. You should keep your heart rate at 158 beats per minute, very comfortable. The main goal is to be building capillaries.
