2017 High School Results
10/30/17 Regional Results- Paige Bormann Finishes Top 60
Senior Paige Bormann wrapped up her outstanding season with a top 60 finish at Saturday's D1 Central Region Championships at Pickerington North High School.
Ranked 56th entering the race (based on combined district results), Paige enjoyed a solid 58th place finish with a time of 20:19. Paige passed the mile mark in 56th place and the two mile mark in 53rd place before losing a handful of places down the stretch on the cold and muddy course.
Paige's finish was the eighth best regional finish by a CW girl runner since the Indians were classified to D1 in 2009:

10/17/17 D1 District Championships- Girls 7th, Guys 10th, Paige Bormann Advances
Neither team qualified out of the D1 District meet on Saturday, but both went out with their best collective races of the year.
Ranked 12th entering the race, the guys team finished 10th out of 17 teams in their section. Six of the seven guys competitors enjoyed season best marks, led by sophomore Reece Klamorick (24th, 16:56) and junior Will Butler (37th, 17:11). The guys' team average of 17:37 was easily their best of the season.
Ranked 11th entering the race, the girls team finished 7th out of 18 teams in their section. The girls missed advancing to regionals as a team by one place and 19 points. Six of the seven girls competitors enjoyed season best marks, led by senior Paige Bormann (18th, 19:47) and freshmen Allena Klamorick (31st, 20:27). The girl's team average of 20:47 was also easily their best of the season. The girls had an extremely gutsy race and managed to beat four teams who had beat them previously in the regular season.
Senior Paige Bormann's advanced to next Saturday's regional meet courtesy of her top 24 finish. Paige will race this Saturday, 12:30pm at Pickerington North High School.

10/17/17 OCC-Capital Championships, Guys & Girls Finish Third
Both Canal Winchester High School Cross Country teams finished third in their respective OCC championship races on Saturday, held at Lancaster High School.
The heat and hilly terrain made for a very challenging course, but many Indian runners rose to the occasion with strong performances.
Paige Bormann (3rd place), Allena Klamorick (7th place), and Will Butler (7th place) were all awarded First Team All-OCC status for their top 7 finishes.
Remarkably, Nathan Hoffman (20th place, 19:11) earned a personal record mark on a course that ran, on average, ~6% slower than the Cambridge course from two weeks ago.

Both Indian teams will return to action this Saturday at the D1 Central District Championships held at Watkins Memorial High School. The girls will race in Section 3 at 2:30pm and the guys will race in Section 2 at 3:30pm.
10/10/17 Harding Invitational Results
The Canal Winchester Cross Country teams competed very well across the board in their final regular season meet of the 2017 season.
The High School girls managed third place finishes in both the varsity and open races.
The High School guys managed a sixth place finish (out of 20) in the varsity race and a 5th place finish in the open.
Paige Bormann, Lauren Young, Eve Cuddihy, Alexis Miller, Reece Klamorick, Evan Young, Nate Hoffman, Conner Ruth, and Orlando Marsili all earned season best marks on an unseasonably hot and windy day.

10/05/17 Sheridan Backwoods Festival Results
It was a great day of racing for the Canal Winchester cross country teams at yesterday's Backwoods Festival!
The high school teams took advantage of a unique chance to race a two mile cross country course. Holding out the top 5 runners on each team, the guys finished 2nd of 14 in the Open race and the girls finished 3rd of 9 in the Open race. Complete results are available here-
10/01/17 Cambridge Invitational Results
The cross country teams all took advantage of much cooler temperatures to enjoy a great day of racing at Saturday's Cambridge Invitational.
The High School guys earned their first trophy of the year with a second place finish (79 points) in the "large school" field of 12 teams.
The High School girls finished a solid third in their field of 11 teams, losing only to state-ranked D2 teams Tuscawarus Valley and Dover.
All told,16 of 26 guys and 20 of 25 girls enjoyed season best times at the meet.

The teams will look to keep the momentum going this week with a meet on Wednesday at the Sheridan Backwoods Festival 2 miler and their last regular season meet on Saturday at the Marion Harding Invitational.
09/26/17 Pickerington Central Invitational Results
The High School guys finished 9th of 12 teams at Saturday's very competitive Pick Central Invite. Reece Klamorick (16th) and Will Butler (18th) both enjoyed excellent finishes, but inconsistency plagued the team as all other scorers finished outside of the top 50. Ian Lewis led the way for the Indians in the guys open race, finishing 44th out of 228 runners. Kaylor Byrd managed a personal record mark for the guys team despite temperatures in the mid to high 80s during his race.
The High School girls finished a solid 4th of 10 teams in the varsity field. Bonnie Butler had a breakout race for the girls, passing 27 runners in the final two miles of the race to place 25th overall. Bonnie was one of four Indian's runners to place in the top 25. The lady Indians also had a great performance in the open race, placing five runners in the top 35 and finishing 5th as a team. Bethany Hinkle (14th) and Kaitlyn Swearingen (16th) led the way for the girls in the open race.

09/18/17 Newark Invitational Results
The High School girls team finished 2nd out of 10 teams at Saturday's Newark Invitational, earning their first team trophy of the season with a gutsy performance on an unseasonably hot day. The top five scoring girls collectively passed 38 runners from the half mile mark to the finish, securing the runner-up trophy. Paige Bormann (5th), Allena Klamorick (8th), and Erin Duckworth (18th) all finished in the top 20 for the team. Esthella Marquez and Olivia Dearth enjoyed season best times in the race.
The High School guys team finished a disappointing 4th of 15 teams on the day. The guys team did enjoy top-30 finishes from Evan Young (17th), Will Butler (20th), Drew Kotwis (24th), and Michael McKeon (27th). Nathan Hoffman, Conner Ruth, Matthew McKeon, Scotty Garner, Jake Snider, and Kaylor Byrds all recorded season best times for the team.

09/04/17 Westerville North Invitational Results
All four CW Cross Country teams were in action Saturday morning at the wet & muddy Westerville North High School.
The meet was very competitive across the board, featuring several of the top teams in the region and in the state.
The Middle School girls placed 9th of 14 teams in the "Varsity" race while the Middle School boys placed 10th of 14 in the "Varsity" race. Carson Reeb nabbed a top-10 finish for the Middle School Boys "Varsity" team, placing 9th of 112 runners.
The High School girls finished 7th of 13 scoring teams while the High School guys finished 6th of 10. Paige Bormann's 9th place finish out of 105 runners in the Varsity girls race was CW's highest individual high school finish of the day.
7th grader Aaron Lewis (14th), 8th grader Kayla Fearing (20th), freshman Ian Lewis (35th), and senior Kaitlin Swearingen (31st) all led their respective squads in the open races. Nice work this weekend CWXC!

08/23/17 New Albany Invitational Results
The Canal Winchester Cross Country teams kicked off their seasons on Monday at the New Albany High School.
The middle school teams competed very well, unfortunately a timing glitch kept meet organizers from publishing official results.
The high school girls team managed a 6th place finish out of 13 teams, while the high school guys managed a 3rd place finish out of 12 teams.

The meet served as a great "tune-up" for the season and coaches were very pleased with our effort on the course, our race tactics, and the leadership provided by our veteran runners. All teams are anxious to return to action Wednesday, August 30th at our home invitational. Nice work Indians XC!
06/13/17 Run 4 Bender Relay For Life Team
Team Run 4 Bender covered 208 laps on the track (52 miles) relay style from 4:30pm-midnight at Saturday's CW Relay for Life! More importantly, our team raised over $1,100 for the American Cancer Society. Very proud of the hard work put in by our athletes, parents & alumni for an outstanding cause. Thank you to all who supported our team!
