Merry xmas all, we hope that something good has been happening for you, regardless of what you believe in. All is good in our world, we are both well and happy with our lives. So what have we been up to you ask, well the story so far is, we spent 3 weeks in Geraldton which we always enjoy and as I write this we are back in Geraldton for a new sit, cool couple of puppies, a couple of chooks and a 3 minute walk to the beach, but for the moment lets catch up
Always good fun here because the wee ones get to visit us
Mica making herself comfortable and Miss B was happy to give her a cuddle
Wee lovable gnomes in the garden hahaha
We even bought ourselves a brand new jigsaw, we usually get them from vinnies or similar but this was dirt cheap on sale, but ...... and there is always a but ...... which will raise its ugly head presently.
Another visit from the wee one with granma and wee one having some quality time in the garden.
Lets get serious here, and this is one serious pizza. Time for a ride so out through the Chapman Valley to the Yuna Tavern. Hmm Yuna Tavern shut down years ago from the looks of it. Now this is where we should of said oh well, half reasonable ride to here, lets turn around and go back, yeah but we didn't did we, we continued on our merry way and the rest way was dead boring and basically crap all the way to Mullewa which was basically boring and crap and the only coffee that said it was open was closed which was basically boring and crap, but the best thing is even a boring crap ride is still better than no ride at all which makes it all good :-)
All going nicely and then we ran out off pieces, shit bugger and bother was spoken as there are 3 pieces missing and we can't blame the puppies for eating them, oh well was good fun to do anyway
and George could not care less about our dilemma, he is soaking up some nice rays
Yum red Dragon fruit to go with the morning bowl of yoghurt, well Mica we think it's yummy,
Wondering what the kids are up to. We find Pog picking mini toms and taking them up to Tuppy who is sitting up in the Yucca. Weird pair they are hahahaha
Back home in 3 Puddles for a bit and then we are on the road again south.
We stop in Moora for fuel and decide to try out a local cafe that has had some good reports, Well you know what gives us the shits now with some coffee shops. They serve everything in takeaway containers and then use covid as the excuse. So how come a week earlier we can have coffee at cafe's in Geraldton with cups and mugs and plates bla bla. Well here, their coffee was shit to go with the takeaway cups.
Great thing though was we were able to catch up with the family in Midland, they were on their way home and we were on our way down to Tapping
All settled in Tapping and we have a ring in for a couple of days, meet Trixie.
and of course our ever lovable Honey. Next it is back onto the bread baking, I love this, mush up some ingredients, shape it up a bit, throw it in the oven where some magic happens
The only thing left then is to whip a couple of slices off, slather with butter, spread it with seeded mustard, bung some good cheese on top, then enjoy it with coffee. Yep life is good.
POG where did you get that from sheesh
Just down the road from where we are there is a botanical gardens, mini golf and a cafe. Every time we sit in Tapping we tell ourselves we must go and have a look and never have. So this time we did and what a gem of a place, not interested in the mini golf but the gardens are beautiful and the cafe is a ripper and not a takeaway bit of bullshit to be had anywhere.
A new recipe and it was good, fiddly but good
Tuppy you been hanging around Pog to long, what are we going to do with you two
Our time here is up and we move straight onto our next sit in Mundaring. A stop for coffee is mandatory and we know a nice cafe in Guildford, well fuck me cranky days, they are using covid as an excuse for serving everything in take away containers. NO thankyou fuck off. We walked around the corner to another cafe 30 metres away and had a really good coffee in mugs and breakfast on plates. It was a massive pig out but boy it was yummy.
So Padburys Cafe Restaurant, in Guildford, you will get our patronage from now on (and we have been back again since) and Little Guildford Cafe you can bash your takeaway cups where the sun doesn't shine, ok thats my rant done, now onto our next sit.
Meet Mack, he is a big fluffy loveable Marimar. Really cool house and a swag of chooks laying lots of cackle berries. Now we were told about an all European bike show which was on and also discovered a Morris Austin car show and market were on the same day and only 10 minutes ride from each other, No brainer here folks so off we go, There were some beautiful Austin Healey's, some cool cars and the bike show had some beautiful euro exotica, all up a great day out
Enough of this frivolous activity involving great cars and motorcycles sheeesh Back to the chickens and collect the cackle berries then settle in for some MotoGP. (Fox Sport is wonderful)
Spend time with Mack then it is down to some serious GP racing
The kids are taking in some rays and then listening to some cool tunes. But all to soon our time is up and we head back to 3 Puddles. I crank up the sunshine on my home made dehydrator and the end result is really good and the wee ones love eating the dried apple and mango and we love eating the dried lemon and tomatoes, all very yummy. I also took the opportunity to make a chain tensioner for tigger and it works extremely well, very happy with it.
We headed to Perth for bit of shopping and just to have some time out. We wandered the streets and down to the Lucky Shag ( it is a bar and restaraunt on the water front) checked out the all the xmas lights around town and saw some funny sights, which included a bunch of hare krishners banging drums and dancing and singing through the mall. The funniest part to all this is a fellow riding his push bike along behind them with a cardboard sign hanging of his bike which was hilarious.
A big breaky at our favourite breaky spot in the mall as well.
On the other side of his sign was "all religions are man made"
He cracked me up.
Also while we were down in Perth we had to collect a care bear for the wee one, no probs, but where is she going to sit, yep you guessed it right, in between us, must of looked hilarious to passers by. She got home safe and sound though much to the delight of the wee one.
Back home and it is full on end of year stuff for the girls
We also have a new sit for over xmas in Geraldton and we ride up to meet the folks and find out all the important stuff and meet the puppies which is what we always do, then a couple of weeks later we ride up to get the keys and any last minute instructions. All good. Quick bit of shopping then off back to Three Springs, all still good till we were about 30klm from home and things started to turn to shit. Tigger was not producing electricity any more which is not good. Anyway we make it home but tigger is only running on 1 and some times 2 cylinders (it has 3 cylinders to play with normally) down the driveway and into the shed. Hmmm some quick tests and soon the problem is revealed. A burnt out stator. Any way another part ordered and on its way but we need to be at our house sit before it will arrive, thankfully Chonny doesn't need her car so we are still track which brings us back to where we are right now. Puppy sitting in Tarcoola Beach which will be the next update.
There you have it folks, pretty much what the gypsies have been up to with a bit of mucking about in between it all.
We sincerely hope all our family and friends in hot spots around the world are all hanging in there and doing ok. We feel for you all but can't even begin to imagine what it has been like. Where we are covid has not affected us at all.
Take care everyone and loves ya all.
The gypsies and the naughty kids who, luckily never argue.
