To pick up from the old site (see link on home page) we have been in Busselton, southwest WA. and xmas is done and dusted. We had heard lots about Margaret River so we decided to ride down and check it out. Well it was a nothing place so we discovered but we went through a village called Cowaramup on the way which was cool.
Now Cowaramup is named after the Cowara Parrot and Up is Aboriginal for place, all sounds good except the whole village has a cow theme, yep weird eh!
You gotta love a village that can take the piss, there is a vineyard near here that has a gold diving lady on a long pole in the middle of a lake, I like the cow much better.
Had we known Margaret River was crap we would of stopped here for coffee but we then headed over to the coast and headed back to towards Busselton, riding into a couple of coastal villages on the way.
Really pretty but we left the surfboards at home so we kept on going until we came across Caves House, what a gem, beautiful old building in beautiful gardens and a great spot for a coffee.
Couple of hours relaxing, reading the paper and walking around the gardens then back up to Busselton foreshore.
Looking out across the Indian Ocean here got us to thinking, Tigger has looked out across, yes the Indian Ocean and Bass Straight, Tasman Sea, Southern Ocean, Coral Sea, Timor Sea, North Sea, English Channel, Celtic Sea, Irish Sea, North Atlantic and the Adriatic Sea
Back to our house we are looking after and the kids have disappeared. A quick look around and we spy them in bushes.
Aha, they are taking council with Buddha, they seem totally engrossed and don't realise we are even home hehe.
We have been meaning to walk the Busselton Jetty since we have been here so off we go, just happens to be the coldest windiest day since we have been here but what the heck, just means we don't have to get out of our bike gear.
Back at the house and William and Diney finish another jigsaw
As for the one I'm doing, well I didn't get far at all really and Billy boy decided enough was enough and attacked it, oh well, running out of time now anyway.
Now why is it so, William has his own water bowl, always clean and full but nooooo, "I am a cat, I decide what I will drink out of thank you very much"
Shush don't say anything cause I'm not supposed to be on this bench hehe
One of our favorite pass times is walking the puppies, wish I had a skateboard, well to start with. The buggers weren't usually quite so active on the way back hehe
Was happy that all the animals got along well, makes our life a lot easier and more enjoyable
The sneak attack from out of the garden, works every time! Hey bro, gimme a man hug
The morning cup of tea was quite perilous some times though
A great place for coffee and a bite was at Bunkers Beach, beautiful beach and a beautiful bay.
Our time on this sit has come to an end so we pack up Tigger and get organised to head out to our next sit, only 20 minutes away so that is good for us.
Our fist charge here is Spotty, now if Spotty sort of looks familiar that is because he is a puppy from Tubby and Chili from our last sit. He is a lovable boisterous 9 month old
Next up we have Abbi who is just gorgeous and reminded us so much of Jessie whom we had back in Tassie
Then we have Pixie the cow giving Diney a cow cuddle. Blindey the steer and Jimbo the minature bull.
Now Blindey is called Blindey because, yes, you guessed it, he is totally blind. Little Jimbo and Blindey are inseparable, Jimbo has taken on the role of Blindey's seeing eye bull, no bull. Really cool watching them move around the paddock
Then we have Missy the Mischievous and Tinkerbel the Strange
Forgot to mention we had three chooks at our last sit and we have eight chooks at this one, and the beauty of this is, fresh cackle berries every day, yummo.
This house sit is also on a dairy farm, really nice walking around watching the farm work and the guys working were all cool and made us feel right at home
Just 1 mob coming in of the 1000 cows they milk twice a day
Fascinated watching the rotary diary working, this guy bungs the cups on as they come past and by the time it's rotated 180 degrees the cups automatically come come of and retract out of the way.
Was a very precarious position to be standing though, you keep a very close eye on lifting tails hahaha
AND FRESH MOO JUICE woohoo it doesn't get any better than this, with real cream on top too.
Can't help but fall in love with this one.
More puzzles, maybe Diney does have the right idea, do smaller ones with bigger pieces.
This pair found this large pile of tyres and got up to all sorts of mischief
The kids decided this would be a good photo opportunity and who are we to argue, an interesting kit car outside a vineyard near Dunsborough
Down to Augusta this time and the Cape Leeuwin light house, very pretty coastline then back into Augusta for coffee, Augusta did nothing for us so after coffee (which was pretty ordinary as well) we headed off back towards Busso, but a stop at Witchcliffe is in order, another little village doing something different
This is the local servo and they have a designated broomstick parking area as well. Every shop has a witch theme, all quite amusing really.
Seen lots of these trees down south, the flowers start out a brilliant sungold yellow and slowly change to a yellowy orange, simply stunning colours.
Best of mates these two.
Are you sure I smell, I don't think I do, that stuff that you call cow pats and chook poo is surely good for my complection and it tastes good to eat and........
hahahaha sucked in dog........... now I was going to do someth.............zzzzzzzzzzz
I nearly got it all done, well alright then, I got a bit done but our time here is nearly over so I have to pack it up
One last run up to an olive farm nearby to get some olivey stuff, and saw this crazy looking donkey there. Get a haircut and get a real job you ass.
So it's goodbye to the southwest after a great couple of house sits for a great bunch of people and a cool bunch of animals in a really nice area.
Coffee in Bunbury and Tigger makes a new friend and then the 600kl ride back to Three Springs
So there we have it folks, that's what the gypsies have been up to.
Chasing our dreams and enjoying life to the max while we can.
Till next time everyone take care and "just do it"
Loves ya all xxx
