The Scouting America program offers numerous opportunities for a boy to develop his leadership skills. Each rank above that of First Class Scout requires the Scout to hold a position of responsibility for a minimal amount of time in order to advance.
The boys may be elected to such positions as Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, or Senior Patrol Leader. They may be appointed by the Senior Patrol Leader, with guidance from the Scoutmaster, to such positions as Quartermaster, Scribe, HIstorian, Troop Guide, etc.
There are also chances to go to such training as National Youth Leadership Training, which is offered periodically at the Council level.
Our program also offers numerous opportunities for adults to provide and teach leadership to the Scouts.
