Streamers hanging from the staff of a Troop flag represent the history of a Troop.
Since its founding in 1990, Troop 270 has earned numerous honors. Many of these honors are represented on the Troop color staff by streamers.
The streamers represent such honors as Journey to Excellence, Quality Unit Award, Merit Troop or Honor Troop for a particular event, Camporee participation, and winning or placing in competitions held at events.
Troop 270 has earned the Journey to Excellence Gold Award for twelve years in a row and the Honor Troop designation at Summer Camp eleven times. The Troop earned a Quality Unit Award, the predecessor to Journey to Excellence, at least six times.
Additionally, there are numerous plaques displayed at the Cordele Boy Scout Hut that were presented to our Scouts that honor their efforts.
