WHAT: Use the mail merge function of Word effectively.

Download the spreadsheet that I used with the tutorial and have a go at using Mail Merge.

  1. Create a thank you letter for all of your closest friends.
  2. Make a spreadsheet with their names and addresses stored inside (you can use fake addresses).
  3. Mail merge the documents and edit them as individual documents to add a special message to each one.

CLASSROOM IDEAS:

Instead of the YouTube video it may be more helpful to step the students through the key features. They will most likely know how to use Word, but they probably won't have seen the mail merge feature before.
