Activity 1

Below is the script for a radio advert:

"Fed up of listening to the same old excuses from your friends about why they can't come out tonight? Well we were too! So we created NoShow. It's an app to rate your friends on how flaky they are when it comes to planning events. NoShow...it stops your friend from being a No Show. "

The narration for this recording is saved here for you to download:

Open Audacity and Import the downloaded file.

Your mission is to revise the narration to make it suitable for a radio advert aimed at young adults with large friendship groups that like to organize events.

The video below will show you some tips and tricks for doing this yourself:

Activity 2

Create your own version of the jingle, taking into account the skills shown in the video tutorial. You can even re-record the narration if you want to!

CHECK:

EMBED:

Use the sound file that you have created in Activity 2 to create an advert that could be uploaded to a YouTube channel as part of you advertising campaign.

CLASSROOM IDEAS:

If you are limited on microphones then you could get one decent one for the classroom and set up a mini recording student at one of your workstations. Students can then log on to that machine to make their recordings.
