On March 2nd, I participated in the 2022 Wells Math Competition Grade 9-10 Division. Due to the pandemic, it was held through google meet. Because I'm a student who has interest in math and takes a hard math course, I decided to join this event. The first round took place in teams of 2 and the members of the team were randomized. I was paired up with a grade 9 student. The math problems were shown on the main meet and we had to go to a separate meet and solve them. Although I completed Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus course at school, there were many questions that were confusing. I realized that I forgot many formulas and theorems. However, with the help of my partner, I could solve some of the questions. Unfortunately, we weren't able to go to the second round as we couldn't get in top 3. However, I still think that it was a great experience and a turning point to myself as I realized that reviews for math are necessary. Also, I learned to collaborate with my partner to solve the math problems . To prepare myself for higher level math next year, I would need to revise and study more to be better.
