On May 20th 2022, our school held the IB CAS Showcase. IB CAS Showcase is an event for the seniors to present their CAS experiences over their IB years and the students participating in this event can know more about the CAS activities. Since 2021, the Korean Club have prepared K-Pop dance performance to accomplish one of the aims of the club which is to share the culture of Korea. I've joined this event last year and I decided to participate again this year. For this performance, not only the Korean club members but also students from other club members who like to dance K-Pop participated. We decided to prepare 3 different songs and people were divided into 3 groups according to the song. Our performed 'Step Back' by GOT the beat.
As the co-leader of the club, I had to take charge of our group's performance with the leader. Because it was my second year joining this event, I knew how the event goes and how long we have to spend time practice. Therefore, we planned and practiced from February during both study halls and individual time at home. At first, it was difficult to contact every members of the team and schedule the time to practice. However, I could get closer to the members of the group as the time went and meet up at a good time when everyone was free. Few days before the CAS showcase, we gathered at the dance studio to practice. We arranged positions and practiced to synchronize our movements. Consequently, we were able to successfully perform on the date of CAS showcase. It was a great experience to perform in front of many students and teachers and get closer to the members!
