2) Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
5) Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively
From September~November 2022, I participated in football training every Friday after school. As a person who likes watching football games, I always had an interest in football. However, playing football was something I couldn't do easily. Therefore, this CAS experience was a challenge and an opportunity for me to develop a new skill. In each practice, we learned basic skills and played football games in the end. The training was sometimes very tiring and I often felt bad because I couldn't play well unlike other players in the team. However, my coaches and friends supported me to keep trying and improving. Thus, I could attend the practices continuously and participate in one football game against another school.
Participating in the actual game was a big challenge for me. I could face limits and realize my lacking skill which made me feel sorry for other teammates. However, I thought it was a great experience for me to learn my limits as I could try harder in practice afterward. As a person who does not play sports often, it was a unique experience for me. After the practices, I felt proud of exercising and using my physical energy. I learned to work collaboratively with the players in the team through passing & receiving practices and the real games. I could also socialize with new people I met during the practices. Therefore, I think it was a meaningful and thankful experience that helped me to develop skills in sports, learn more about myself, and know the benefits of working in a team.
