INTRODUCTION

Ruby Carter-Wright is the only child of Jack Carter and Katie Wright. She works as a detective sergeant in a homicide department in London.

CHILDHOOD & JOINING THE POLICE

Ruby grew up with her parents in London. They inspired Ruby's decision to train to be a police officer; she only ever knew them as police officers and private investigators. When Ruby was 13, her parents divorced, yet despite the lost love- the two still remained close friends.

Ruby trained within the London police force as soon as she left school, she rose through the ranks. Weeks before Jack's death, ruby joined one of London's top homicide departments as a detective sergeant and became partnered with Danny Noah.

JACK’S DEATH 

The night of Jack's death, Ruby was the one to find him. Despite her efforts to save his life, Jack died in her arms, her face being the last thing he saw. The night scarred Ruby, she slipped into depression and has been struggling with nightmares since. The loss brought her close to her partner, Danny. the two became closer, leading into an intimate but secret relationship between the pair.

Ruby remained close to both her mother, Katie and step-dad, Robert, despite the two having a massive falling out. Ruby tries to act as the middle-man, hoping to get them to rekindle their friendship.
