FULL HISTORY

INTRODUCTION

Stryder (born as Layla Miva) is a Mercenary known well throughout Fereldan and Orlais. She mainly became famous due to her service protecting the people, and her time in the employment of King Alisair Theirin and Queen Gwenevere Cousland. Stryder later brought her talents to the Inquisition, following the leadership of Evelyn Trevelyan. 

CHILDHOOD

Stryder spent the first eight years of her life growing up in Kirkwall alienage with her mother, Danyla. Despite experiencing prejudice and living in poverty, Stryder (or Layla) was happy. It was at eight years old that everything changed. An intruder broke into her home, attempting to assault her mother. Stryder lost control of the magic she didn't know she had, burning the intruder to death and setting a-light to her house. Her mother, terrified and shocked, treated Stryder like she was a monster. Before she could be taken away by Templars, Stryder was rescued by her soon-to-be mysterious mentor. 

MERCENARY LIFE & JOINING THE INQUISITION 

Her mentor taught her how to hide her magic and utilize it with rogue fighting abilities. Stryder learnt the tricks of the mercenary trade and eventually set off on her own to help the people of Fereldan. Stryder started to gain her fame around the beginning of the fifth blight. She was later employed by King Alistair and Queen Cousland. The two became her friends and were some of the first to learn the secret of her magic.

It was due to them that Stryder ended up joining and aiding the Inquisition. whilst mostly keeping to herself, Stryder became close friends with Evelyn Trevelyan and Cullen Rutherford (with whom she would later fall in love with).
