This piece was an experimentation with color and abstracting feelings. I started out with a large 24 x 18in sheet of multimedia paper. I experimented with color theory and acrylic paint on multi media paper. I was limited to the primery colors, white and black. I mixed a nice light orange almost samon, tinted purple, yucky green, magenta, and yellow. I painting these colors randomly on a sheet, just as a huge experimentation. I used other colors on the sheet. I then cut out geometric shapes of my favorite colors mixed. I arranged the shapes in a way that made the colors stand out and contrast. I put bright yellow on the dark purple, the bright magenta on the purple, and the very light purple against the magenta and dark purple. The yellow-green is a small but present shape on the contrasting light purple. I arranged the shapes so that the largest rectangle is in the middle and the focus, while the circles are around the edge and overlapping each other. I wanted the shapes to flow, change your eye direction, and not be overwhelming to the eye. Overall, this experiment produced a beautiful piece! I love how random and unplanned this was, and would like to impilemt more spontaious art in my life. I think its important to have things unplanned and still become beautiful.
