This piece was inspired by pop surrealism artist “Camilla D'Errico”. After following her on instagram for awhile I was inspired by the whimsical, playful, and bizarre nature of her pieces. With gravity defying tentacles and space/time less concepts I enjoyed the weird feeling while looking at these pieces. Reminds me of how odd and out of place I felt growing up, After accepting myself, I wanted to invoke this strange feeling on others by painting a bumblebee on a lemon. With acrylic paint i made a “kawaii” styled bee with pink and purple warm tone colors. The lemon is cut in half and growing out of the ground as a flower would. I enjoyed mixing these two whimsical elements and invoking different feelings in other peoples and touching their souls.
