Blaze ET

Blaze ET

Designed and built by HIMS, the Blaze EZ (white colouring) and Blaze ET (Black colouring) are audio players similar to Humanware's Victor Reader. They are handheld devices, about the size of a mobile phone, designed to play a variety of audio files, text files and DAISY files. They can access the radio, record audio files and capture and announce printed text through their Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature. Both the EZ and ET can be purchased with a Premium Option pack which includes a stand to help with the capture of printed text, a remote to capture the image and a cradle (pictured) as a charging station.

The Blaze EZ/ET premium option pack includes items such as an addiitonal battery, a cradle (whcih can be used to charge the spare battery and the Blaze EZ/ET, additional power adaptor, remote for use with the OCR feature and a stand. The stand is not technically required to use the Blaze EZ/ET for the capture of text via OCR, however, it is highly recommended as students no longer need to try to position their hands holding the Blaze EZ/ET at the perfect height above the text.
