MagniLink is a video magnifier offering both quality and mobility. It offers superior image quality, modern technology and really smart features. It’s also easy to carry, for example, between home and school or a workplace – and can be connected to a computer (PC/Mac/Chromebook) via USB 3.0 or a monitor. Thus, you can choose the features and options that fit your needs. Use it to read books and documents, follow along with lecture notes on the whiteboard, and then take a snapshot to study later. The system is powered through the computer’s USB 3.0 port – no batteries or additional power sources needed.

The Magnilink features the ability to magnify images both close up and in the distance, invert colours, provide a screen curtain and autofocus.

Classroom Applications

Students are able to access materials in front of them on their desk, such as a book or document and around the classroom including on a whiteboard or an interactive whiteboard.

The Magnilink can help in all academic areas and is fully portable, folding up into a small carry bag to move between lessons.

The Magnilink can be connected to a monitor, television or a laptop. If connected to a laptop, certain versions of the Magnilink have software that will take printed text and read it aloud. When using the Magnilink with a computer, the software can be used in conjunction with a word processor, having both programs open at once, allowing the user to take notes from a whiteboard into a word document.

The Magnilink can also take still images or videos to refer back on later if required when using it with a computer. These images or videos can instantly be recorded as learning is occurring.

Generally, students towards the end of primary school and moving into high school are considered ideal for this device. Their needs are suited - moving between classes in high school requires portability, they are able to independently set up and pack up the device and they can use the full range of features that are offered.
