A useful tool often required in the later years of high school, this calculator has shown promise as a tool for students in their later primary school years too. The speech unit, added to the top of the calculator, provides the user with feedback on their calculations. Users need to learn the layout of the calculator as well as the functionality, but once learnt, it is a device that can follow the student throughout their education.
Below is an outline of the Orion Ti-84 Calculator. This outline is designed to be printed in A3 size and then have braille added to it, so that a student can learn the layout of the keys. The calculator uses the same buttons to perform three different levels of functions (for example, the multiplication button is also the left square bracket ([) and the letter 'R'. By adding braille a student can use the outline as a mud map to independently learn the layout of the calculator.
