Have you ever heard of Sugru? Sugru is self-curing silicone. It can be used to fix or join nearly anything made of glass, plastic, wood ceramic, metal and even fabrics! It's also removable should you decide to want to change your opinion.
I first heard about Sugru just a few months ago I thought to myself, hey it's just a tiny small amount of silicone, how is that even possible? Then I started reading the more I could about Sugru. Then I was quite happy reading about the different things that people employed Sugru's mouldable glue to fix in their articles on the website. We were faced with a few things that needed to be repaired. We decided to take the plunge and paid PS6.99 on a 3-pack of white Sugru. We waited with bated breath for the mailman to show up.
Initial Thoughts on Sugru Mouldable The Glue
The moment it arrived when it arrived, we thought "oh, that's not a lot of Sugru". To be honest we were a bit bummed. It doesn't appear to be much product, and we were not sure it could go very far. I was worried that this was most likely to turn out to be terrible Sugru reviews of mouldable glue! However, we soon got to work working on it and to put it in a mild way, we were pleasantly surprised at the results of the Sugru. If my family weren't listening to this story - hello mum! Then there could be some expletives to explain just how amazed and surprised we were!

There was also enough Sugru leftover to repair my drum stool with my friend. The stool can fold up, but it has been lately folded up on its own volition even when we did not want it to! Thanks to a Sugru-inspired action, it is able to be used without any worries! It would cost PS140 to purchase a new stool with the same quality. We saved only a few minutes of usage.
After all that, there was some leftover so I created two small hooks to hang on the inside of the bathroom cabinet. There's a place to place my nail scissors on them along with a bag filled with hair ornaments. It's a simple trick that makes my life more simple

We were so happy with the result that we decided to spend another PS6.99 on a third-pack of sugru silver mouldable glue.
This was to address the issue in our shower which caused it to drip throughout the throughout the night. This was causing outrage at our home! We attempted to change the washer but the issue was more fundamental than the issue. It appeared that there was a problem with the screw fitting that needed to be replaced. We're not experts in plumbing, or anything else related to it, and this task would have required the expertise of a professional.
The silver Sugru completed the job and was able to blend to the work of metal. It wasn't the most perfect job possible using the Sugru We decided that it's safer to be secure instead of regretting it!

Savings to be Made
I added the numbers and realized that by spending PS13.98 on what I initially dismissed as a small amount of silicon actually saved us PS240 in just a week. Furthermore the mouldable glue from Sugru helped divert a few items from being disposed of or having to be recycled.
There's a small amount of silver Sugru leftover. Therefore, I'm checking everything in the kitchen to determine what could be fixed. The next item on my list of repairs is a damaged lid for a pan We're also saving the remaining to use for future repairs or hacks.
But is Sugru Eco-friendly?
If you're curious, Sugru in itself isn't an environmentally-friendly product. Sugru is open about the issue on their website, and states "a small amount of Sugru can help to prolong the life of complex and large items but in itself, as a material, it's not particularly innovative from an environmental perspective". Sugru further explains that:
Sugru is one of the silicones. Therefore , the same guidelines for environmental protection that are applicable to all household silicones are applicable to Sugru.
It's not made of petrochemicals, however it's not biodegradable.
Sugru is made using an energy-efficient high heat mixing process that is low in energy and low heat mixing. But this isn't necessarily the case for its raw materials.
We recommend using the bare minimum achievable for the job and then using any remaining to make additional improvements, even when you don't have a damaged item.

I believe that anything that makes it simple to fix difficult products without the need to purchase new ones must be appreciated. This is a good thing since I'm planning to ensure I have Sugru on hand!
