Garbage Stayman is a variation of the Stayman convention. Other names are:

After a 1NT opening by partner, a 2♣ response shows a weak 3-suited hand that's short in clubs, may be 0 HCP. 

Distributions if the HCP amount is less than that required for a regular Stayman:

• 4-4-4-1

• 4-4-5-0

• 3-4-5-1

• 4-3-5-1
