Social Psyche is the overall title for all our monthly org-wide hangouts, and one of our most memorable ones was Splash: Sublimation Through Art, which occurred in March 2019 at The National Bookstore Atelier, Areté.
The Year-Ender Ball is Ateneo Psyche's culminating project of the term filled with the induction and oath-taking of the incoming Psyche board and senior send-off.
Estrellas Visits (now called Psyche Visits to accommodate our widened scope in partner institutions) allowed our participants to interact with patients through research- and vocational-related programs.
The National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) Awareness Week is a fundraiser for our primary beneficiaries, and in October 2020, we sold products such as soap and mugs that were made through the psychosocial rehabilitation programs of the NCMH.
From this project, we raised a total of ₱23,214.00 from both pledges and products. For a more detailed breakdown of what we managed to contribute to our partner institutions, as well as more event photos, check out this album!
Psymposia is our annual leadership training seminar, dedicated to fostering people-oriented leadership through the application of psychological concepts. This is where our members are extensively molded and trained to become potential leaders of the organization.
A third of the participants from our most recent Psymposia have made their way to the Central Board 2020 to 2021!
Psyche Visits features engagements with our partner communities, such as Estrellas Home Care Clinic, L’Arche Philippines and the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH). It aims for students to have a more informed understanding of the experiences of mental health patients and the current state of the mental health sector in the Philippines. Awareness is just the beginning, and we hope to engage students in supporting our partner communities.
Care Packages is a Finance project that aims to promote self-care and healthy coping with stress, while also giving others an opportunity to support our advocacies through merchandise. The profit earned will be used to fund future Psyche projects and other forms of support that our partner communities may need.
The Thesis Talk aims to impart useful information and techniques to psychology majors about writing their senior thesis. The talk is going to feature guest speakers from Psychology alumni, thesis advisers, and even current psychology seniors who are tasked to share the do’s and don’ts when writing their senior thesis. This talk is to better prepare psychology students in thesis writing both in the online and offline setting.
Kuwentong KomDev is an immersive initiative that highlights the stories or kuwentos of selected old and current members of the Ateneo Psyche. Personal remarks from representatives of the partner communities with regards to their experiences during the organization’s immersion projects will also be highlighted, allowing for a comprehensive appreciation of the relationships we’ve built with our partner mental health communities over the past years.
EQ and You, founded in 2020, is a project that inculcates psychological knowledge and skills in the context of the pandemic.
In the first year of EQ and You, the podcast series focused on emotional intelligence and how interpersonal and intrapersonal skills can be developed and applied in real-life situations, especially in the context of the quarantine.
Psych X aims to promote the interdisciplinary nature of psychology with other fields of study, especially in the context of the Filipino nation. This year, Psych X aims to reassess the state of psychology and its contribution to national development. The webinar hopes to present a nation-building agenda to psychology majors.
Sublimation is a workshop that showcases various mediums of art to members, regardless of experience, motivating them to pick up art for leisure and self-expression. Through this, attendees are introduced to art as a positive outlet for negative emotions and offers an alternative to relieving stress.
RED Letter Day is a Valentine’s Day themed talk that aims to discuss the importance of Respect, Equality, and Diversity. It expounds on these topics by delving into different contexts every year, which focus on relevant and significant situations faced by society.
