Recycled Paper Workshop
Our recycled paper workshop has a unique and inspiring story. In our print and binding studio, we often had leftover paper scraps that we felt were too valuable to throw away. In the early 2000s, two of our colleagues received professional training in Switzerland at the social therapy center La Branche, where they worked in a workshop that recycled paper waste instead of discarding it. This experience inspired us to open our own recycled paper workshop in 2006. Work and Therapeutic Process Our members begin by hand-tearing leftover paper from our printing studio. The pieces are then blended into pulp and poured onto a frame. Each person adds their own creative touch โ mixing in colors and arranging pressed flowers or leaves (herbarium). After two to three days of drying, beautiful decorative paper is ready. We use this handmade paper to create notebook covers, bookmarks, envelopes, and greeting cards. Our is a space of continuous creativity and innovation. Through many experiments, we developed a technique for making decorative lampshades. Using leftover plywood frames from our laser workshop, we stretch gauze, pour the pulp, add colors, and decorate the lamps with dried plants. The result is a collection of unique and beautiful lamps, which have become very popular.
Ecological Impact: By recycling paper waste, we contribute to environmental sustainability. Instead of discarding leftovers, we transform them into beautiful and meaningful creations.
New Initiatives: After tree pruning in our garden, we collect the branches and turn them into original handmade pendants. Two social therapists and six beneficiaries work in the workshop, forming a supportive and joyful team. They help one another, share ideas, and are always eager to learn and create.
