1. Bố cục bài Talk about your best friend

Thường thì trong IELTS Speaking Part 2 chúng ta sẽ trình bày theo phong cách thuyết trình với sườn bài mà thẻ bài cho sẵn. Một bài Part 2 hợp lý sẽ bao gồm mở bài (introduction), thân bài (body) và kết bài (conclusion). Trong đó:

• Mở bài: Phần mở bài được dùng để thu hút sự chú ý của người nghe, giống như trong các buổi thuyết trình trên lớp với cách mở đầu thật đơn giản và đi thẳng vào vấn đề.

• Ví dụ:

• “OK so now I would like to share with you about a friend I love to spend time with.”

• Thân bài: Phần thân bài chúng ta sẽ lần lượt trả lời các câu hỏi trong thẻ bài theo thứ tự từ trên xuống dưới.

• Lưu ý: Khi trả lời từng câu hỏi, hãy cố gắng kéo dài mỗi câu trả lời dài khoảng 3 ý. Trong đó, ý thứ nhất cần phải trả lời trực tiếp câu hỏi được hỏi, ý thứ 2 & 3 được dùng để làm rõ nghĩa cho ý thứ nhất.

• Như vậy, phần thân bài chúng ta sẽ có 4 câu trả lời dài, mỗi câu trả lời sẽ bao gồm 3 ý tưởng được minh họa theo cách take note sau:

• + What this person looks like: Hoang Huy /50 years old, tall, bald/smart, nice, kind

• + When and where you met this person: 3 years ago/Christmas party/talking skill

• + What you do when you are together: keep in touch/send messages/never get bored or sad

• + And explain why he/she is one of your best friends: count on/help a lot/release stress

• Kết bài: Phần kết bài được dùng để báo hiệu người nghe rằng phần trình bày của thí sinh đã hết. Thường trong phần này chúng ta nên đưa vào một ý tưởng mang hàm ý hy vọng cho thêm phần sinh động.

• Ví dụ:

• “So that’s all I would like to say about my best friend. I hope in the future we will have more time to hang out and create some more fun memories together.”

2.1. Từ vựng mô tả độ tuổi

• Young at heart: Tâm hồn trẻ trung

• In her/ his twenties: trong độ tuổi hai mươi

• In his/ her teenage years: Trong độ tuổi thanh niên

2.2. Từ vựng mô tả ngoại hình

• Slender: mảnh khảnh

Introduction: Okay, let me tell you about my best friend.

Body:

• His name is Hoang Huy and he lives in America. He is around 30 years old with beards, average height and a bald head. About personality, he is very mature but young at heart, knowledgeable and sometimes very funny. Whenever he is around, he will make people laugh.

• I met him 3 years ago at a small party. My friend held that party for the Christmas celebration. Hoang Huy was there as my friend invited him to come and I was there too. My first impression of him was his communication skills. To be honest, it was very easy for him to make new friends, including me.

• After the party, we became friends and kept in touch on social media because he had to go back to his country. We text each other every day. He is now far away but we still send messages every day and tell stories to each other. You know, I never feel bored or sad because I can share my feelings with him.

• I really like him because I can count on him if I have some problems in life. He helps me a lot when I feel sad at work. Before I go to sleep, I sometimes call him and tell him about what happens that day. This habit helps me a lot in releasing my stress and feeling happier when I wake up the next day.

Introduction: Okay, let me tell you about the friend that I like to be with.

Body:

• His name is Hoang Huy who is American and lives in the US. At the moment, he is in his fifties with beards, average height. He told me he chose to have a bald head because it is his style. Speaking of personality, he is very mature, down-to-earth but young at heart, knowledgeable and sometimes strikes people with his sense of humor. Wherever he goes, he will make people laugh.

• I bumped into him 3 years ago at a small party which was held by my friend for a Christmas celebration. Hoang Huy was there as my friend invited him to come and so was I. To my surprise, I was really impressed by the way Hoang Huy broke the ice with the people in the party. To be honest, I found it easy for him to form new friendships, including ours.

• After the party was over, we became friends and had to keep in touch on social media due to the fact that he had to go back to his country. However, we text each other every day. Though he is now far away, we still send daily messages and tell stories to each other. You know, it is him who helps me never get bored or sad because I can share how I feel with him.

• The reason why I really admire him is because I can count on him for some advice and guidance. I mean he helps me a lot when I feel under the weather or stressed at work. Before I go to sleep, I usually call him and tell him about what happens to me that day. This frequent habit allows me to not only reduce my work-related stress as well as improves my mood but also makes me feel calm and brings me motivation when I wake up the next day.

Conclusion: So, that is what I would like to say. I hope that we will meet again and continue to share our stories together.

6. Bài mẫu Talk About Your Best Friend band 8.0+

Introduction: So now I would like to share with you a friend who makes me feel happy and willing to spend time with.

Body:

• The friend I would like to tell you about is Hoang Huy, who is American and lives in the US. At the moment, he is a middle-aged man who is in his fifties with beards, average height. The highlight in his appearance is his bald head, the nerdy style that he chose 30 years ago as he believed to be his permanent look. In terms of personality, I would say he is pretty gorgeous, charming, outspoken but young at heart, knowledgeable and sometimes entertains people with his sense of humor. What I mean is wherever he goes, he will create an easy going atmosphere where people feel at home and comfortable enough to express themselves

• Regarding our first rendez-vous, it was in a small Christmas party which was organized by my friend 3 years ago where we commenced our friendship. That night, Hoang Huy came to the party as an invitee and so was I. To my surprise, I was really impressed by the way Hoang Huy broke the ice with all the strangers in the party. To be honest, I must admit that Hoang Huy is the kind of person who never struggles in starting small talks with someone he meets for the first time.

• After the party was over, Hoang Huy and I got closer and became soulmates. However, we had to keep in touch on social media due to the fact that he had to go back to his country. I mean we text each other every day. Despite the geographical distance, we never cease to catch up with each other by texting or sometimes video calling day by day, night by night. You know, it is undeniable that he is the one who helps me get over with boredom, sadness, stress, disappointment or even depression in life because I can confide everything to him without the fear of being judged or complained.

• I have always considered him not only my best friend but also my mentor because I can rely on him for some suggestions, aids and guidance. What I mean is he supports me a lot when I feel under the weather or stressed at an intense work schedule. Before I crash, I usually call him and tell him about what happens to me that day. This frequent bedtime activity allows me to not only reduce my work-related stress as well as improves my mood but also makes me feel calm and brings me motivation when I wake up the next day.

Conclusion: So, those are the reasons why I chose to present to you about Hoang Huy. I truly believe that no matter what happens, come rain come shine, Hoang Huy will always be there and give out his hand with his guidance and support in bringing me to some proper life decision.
