Pride is the 7th Track on "DAMN." in which Kendrick Lamar speaks on his pride, and how it takes away from his humility. To be prideful is to be gluttonous, and that will lead you to never being content with yourself. However, on the contrary, one does not want to humble himself to the point where he doubts his abilities. On one line Kendrick states, "I can’t fake humble just 'cause your ass is insecure". There will be those that dislike you, and project their emotions onto you, yet you must confide in yourself and disregard the attacks being made. There are so many messages to be found in this song and I recommend you take the time to sit and listen.

Why I chose this song for this week
DAMN. was the first and only vinyl I had for a while. I played this song a lot on my player back then and not only does it remind me a lot of how I've grown from 2017, but the lyrics are much more meaningful now that I'm older. The song lyrics are all about reflection and acceptance.
