Thrown Down
Fleetwood Mac 2003
The 4th song off Fleetwood Mac's final studio album, Thrown down tells the story of two lovers who reconcile and forgive their past actions. Stevie Nicks would go on to say that this song was written about her relationship with guitarist Lindsey Buckingham’s. The mood of the song is very upbeat and perfect for a song of this nature. The lead guitar carries the melody and and makes you want to dance.
Genre: Folk-Rock, Rock
Particular lyrics
Thrown down, like a barricade
Maybe now he could prove to her
That he could be good for her
And they should be together
About just how much he never really told her
Thrown down
About how difficult it had been to be without her
Thrown down
Why I chose this song for this week
Stevie Nicks was the lead singer for the band at the time and I feel that her feminine voice fits the role of the protagonist wonderfully.
