No Cable

IDK 2019

No Cable is the 11th track off IDK's album "Is He Real?" which questions social issues and the role of authority throughout its entirety. Specifically on No Cable, IDK questions the media and the way they convey information. Furthermore, he focuses on societies lack of attention, depth, and understanding of events occurring around us, leading people to believe biased info. The Chorus of the song repeats a similar message, as background vocals attempt to speak on social issues only to be cut off by IDK yelling "Change the Channel".  IDK compares the world around us as a TV with many stations, and we decide when to "change" our focus away from the issues at hand. The instrumentals of the song are very laid back as if something from a fantasy world. The symbolism is only further portraited as IDK attempts to get through to us, but we are too focused on the joys that come with ignorance.
