Statement of the artwork
Timeline: 10th month of russia's war in Ukraine. russia continues destroying health facilities, educational institutions, private sectors, critical infrastructure etc.. Each day russia takes the lives of hundreds of Ukrainians, children including. In the occupied territories Ukrainians are subjected to torture, violence and intimidation. Also, russian army actively practices shooting civilian and humanitarian convoys (single civilians as well) at close range and dropping bombs on private sectors. This artwork is dedicated to all Ukrainians who were made to escape leaving their homes. This artwork contains images generated by artificial intelligence and my digital drawings, so together it forms a collage. Thanks artificial intelligence it has become easier to represent these terrible events, so that’s a valuable opportunity nowadays to be able to use such a tool as AI to let the world know how russia destroys Ukrainian people and Ukrainian land. As artificial intelligence I chose midjourney. Midjourney is a neural network or as they call themselves an independent research lab The main reason why I chose them is because I remember seeing in Instagram or Twitter images generated by Midjourney artificial intelligence and depicting the victory of Ukraine. It’s said that the keywords were: victory celebration, joy, Ukraine. That’s exactly what I and millions of Ukrainians are waiting for so much. As it was said before this art consists of 2 digital artworks. Interesting fact, artworks you see in the end of the video I started creating 2 years ago and returned to it only in 2022. Also watching time-lapse videos you could see how my art style has changed over the years.
