Uplifted - Non-Mammalian

A collective designation bestowed upon uplifted animals saved from a great extinction event on the parallel universes earth. Now given anthropomorphic form and sentience, each Uplifted being is unique, even those stemming from the same progenitor species. Despite or perhaps owing to the shared loss of their home, they have forged a unified culture and found their place within the Flotilla alongside the Humans who rescued them. However, a faction within the Uplifted seeks independence, and some revert to their more feral instincts, rejecting their newfound humanity. 

Initially appearing as a seemingly random assortment of former Earth animals, the Uplifted, along with the Humans who uplifted them, represent the sole survivors of Earth's former inhabitants. The great extinction event wiped out all life on the planet, beginning with mammals. Faced with limited resources and a desire to preserve as many species as possible, the Humans made the challenging decision to uplift a diverse array of animals. Each resulting Uplift, while as varied and diverse as the multitude of species they originated from, shares a unified culture as former Earthlings. Together, they work tirelessly alongside the Humans to navigate an uncertain future.

The mysterious cause of the sudden extinction event remains unknown to this day, and suspicions linger regarding foul play by Vertek Inc. These unanswered questions add an air of intrigue to the ongoing narrative, as the Uplifted and Humans strive to forge a path forward amidst uncertainty and the echoes of their shared past.
