Next Episode: The Y1K Bug: February 21 - 22, 2026
The Universe is unraveling, disrupting lives and natural laws with each convulsion in its final moments. The definitive cause of this crisis remains elusive, Yet, in the realm of public opinion, guilt is dispersed widely as fingers point to culprits, reflecting a diversity as vast and varied as the cultures that conceived these accusations
In the wake of the 'Void Fall Incident' (VFI), what was sacred among the sciences has since turned profane. The years following the VFI have witnessed the catastrophic destabilization of ancestral laws of nature, resulting in their reliability floating from a state of analytical steadiness to fickle flux. Previously stable deductions, like the constant of gravity on a planet could change on a dime in response to temporal fluctuations originating somewhere across the distance of stars. Reality and matter, once steadfast, have become malleable in a way they never were before.
This degradation of long-standing scientific principles has also seems to coincide with the emergence of extraordinary yet ominous powers in certain individuals. These remarkable beings fall into two broad categories: 'Espers,' who demonstrate apparent psychical mastery over mind and matter, and 'Vestiges,' who can summon Void radiation coursing through them to manipulate the physical world outside themselves.
Both cosmic conduits display signs of an enigmatic energy seeping through the atomic fabric of any conventional matter it touches. Void particles, an apparent source of these novel abilities, have swiftly earned a reputation as dangerous and perceived as contagious symptoms of a gangrenous cosmos. Individuals bearing these mythical and malignant attributes have in short order come to find themselves ostracized from the broader societal fabric, facing isolation and mistrust as they navigate a world increasingly wary of their unique and unpredictable powers.
The former dating system, once employed by the local galactic community, commenced in GC-0 with the establishment of the Galactic Council. This system was rooted in the annual cycle of the Alfar homeworld and was widely embraced across the Milky Way galaxy. Its use persisted until the occurrence of the Celestial Extinction Event, also colloquially known as the 'Void Fall' event, in GC-7810. This event marked the beginning of a new epoch for the universe. Different fleets often designate this new epoch by various names, with many referring to it as CCE-0. Notably, within Fleet Luyten, it is most commonly recognized as AX-0, or ‘After Xanadu’.
The current in-game year (as of 2024) is AX-998
Thanks to the brave scientists of Project S.T.A.R.D.U.S.T. We have been able to develop a device called the Stardrive engine. The Stardrive engine is able to open a targeted wormhole to a distant location long enough for an entire fleet to pass through traveling the equivalent of millions of lightyears in mere moments, however the caveat being that a massive amount of power is required to operate a Stardrive engine. Fortunately Flagship class vessels such as the “Xanadu” are equipped with engines capable of generating enough power given 48 hours to charge the capacitors.
