Next Episode: The Y1K Bug: February 21 - 22, 2026
The Sa’guine were once a single group of highly intelligent primates that evolved in the Cascus system on the binary planet of Cascus Alpha. Cascus Alpha and its binary pair Cascus Beta, though slightly smaller, were both lush green planets teeming with non-sentient life. Until the Sa’guine in their pursuit of knowledge eventually managed to send a small group of Sa’guine to Cascus Beta on a rocket. While the rocket successfully made the roughly 353,000 km journey to Cascus Beta, upon arrival it was too badly damaged to make its return trip.
Meanwhile war broke out among the inhabitants of Cascus Alpha hindering further efforts at space exploration indefinitely. Over approximately the next two millennia the now separated groups managed to thrive however the civilization that was left behind on Cascus Alpha, having nearly destroyed itself through war chose to renounce technology having seen the devastation it could bring. Meanwhile the new civilization on Cascus Beta, through both a smaller population and an abundance of resources, grew to its current height of technological prowess, and eventually not knowing their origins on Cascus Alpha returned to explore it and were surprised to find their long lost relatives.
To this day despite the two groups being re-connected there remains a divide between the two civilizations, those from Cascus Alpha who were nearly destroyed by their technology calling themselves Sa’guine Kaskus and those who returned from Cascus Beta after regaining their lost technology calling themselves Sa’guine Novus.
